Mission
Newcomb-Tulane College’s Center for Academic Equity provides undergraduate students from historically underrepresented groups with unique enrichment opportunities and generous need-based support. The Center’s programs and events offer Tulane students a pathway to engage in meaningful conversations regarding diversity and equity to further a culture of support, inclusivity, and mutual respect for all within Tulane University and beyond. Our staff cultivate collaborations with campus and foundation partners to offer a myriad of learning experiences and support for each student population we serve to foster the academic, social, and professional skills needed to thrive on campus and ensure student persistence and success.
Vision
To ensure that all full-time undergraduates students admitted to Tulane University have the tools to thrive and flourish academically by serving as a gateway to the support services within Newcomb-Tulane College and enhancing exposure to research, internships, global travel, site visits, experiential learning, summer school, and career enrichment opportunities.
Values
Newcomb-Tulane College’s Center for Academic Equity works proactively to meet students’ needs, whether through the financial support for enrichment opportunities, mentorship, or help accessing course-based learning tools such as textbooks and calculators, to support academic exploration and education.
