Lovely Lacey is the Senior Program Coordinator of Mentorship and Assessment for the Center for Academic Equity. Lovely is dedicated to serving students. She enjoys seeing the trajectory of the personal and academic development of students of the Global Majority. She specializes in facilitating spaces for students who identify as First-Generation, low-income, and students traditionally excluded from higher education. Lovely happens to identify the same way and loves giving back in the role of mentor -just like those that poured into her. Lovely's efforts are focused on the Posse and College Track cohorts in the Center for Academic Equity. She also assesses the impact and efficacy of the programming the Center for Academic Equity has to offer -through student feedback. This is vital to making sure the Center's programming is intentional, equitable, and impactful in meaningful ways for students.
Lovely received her Bachelor's degree in Sociology with a concentration in Public Health from the University of Delaware. Lovely also served as a Community-based full-spectrum Doulain her home state of Delaware. Lovely is proud to be a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and participates in her local chapter.
She enjoys hiking, studying the power of plants and herbalism, long naps on the beach, and when she is not shouting from the mountaintops about Black Maternal Child Health -she can be found chatting about the ills of settler colonialism or riding her bike (and trying not to fall).
