COVID-19 Response and My Scholarship

We know that Tulane's move to online instruction in response to the COVID-19 pandemic raises many questions. Please know that the Center for Academic Equity is here to support you through this transition and to academic success this semester. Please let us know if you need help in returning home/staying in New Orleans, have the tools you need to succeed academically, or have unforeseen expenses related to this move that you cannot manage. We will do our best to support you. Below finds some FAQs for Posse and College Track students.

What does this mean for my scholarship?

Tulane's transition to online instruction will have little to no impact on your scholarship. Your courses will move online. You will receive credit for your coursework and complete one semester of scholarship funding. Information about partial refunds for housing and meal plans is forthcoming from the department of student affairs.

CAE has canceled all in-person scholarship requirements such as Posse Big Meetings or College Track Large Group gatherings.

Will I have access to my mentor/cohort?

Yes. You will have access to your mentor. 1st and 2nd-year students will continue to meet with their group and have one-on-ones with their mentor in regular virtual sessions.

Will I still have access to the Resource Lending Library (RLL)?

Yes. Students can keep the items that they have checked out of the CAE RLL program and return them when they return to campus in Fall 2020. Students with rental items will receive instructions from CAE at the end of the semester.

Will I still have access to the supports I use when I am on campus?

Yes. The Center for Academic Equity will continue to support programs such as the Resource Lending Library and Scholarship Search.

Newcomb-Tulane College will remain open, and you will continue to have access to support services such as success coaching and tutoring. You can learn more about the NTC's functions amid Tulane's response to COVID-19 at the College's frequently asked questions page. .

What about my Tulane related summer plans?

Tulane has not issued guidance related to COVID-19 and summer activities. The Center for Academic Equity's summer grants program for undergraduate research, internships, and study abroad are open, and we have extended the deadline to April 1, 2020. Our summer school scholarships will open on April 1, 2020, and close on April 15, 2020. .
